Ben Woodruff
Ben Woodruff practices civil litigation in state and federal courts, with a focus in commercial, professional liability, and bankruptcy.
Prior to joining the firm, Ben practiced professional liability defense in Denver, representing doctors, hospitals, and attorneys in state and federal courts, as well as in administrative proceedings. Ben also practiced energy law for a Houston-based firm, where he served clients in title matters, regulatory proceedings, and transactional matters.
After law school and before returning to his native Colorado, Ben clerked in the Oregon Court of Appeals, first for Justice Bronson D. James and then for Judge Ramón A. Pagán.
In law school, Ben graduated with magna cum laude honors and was awarded for top grades in Business Associations, Energy Law, and several taxation courses. He served as a member and editor of the Maine Law Review for his final two years of law school. Ben interned with Judge Michael Fagone in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Maine and externed with Judge Kermit Lipez in the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. Finally, Ben studied commercial arbitration in London, gaining valuable insight into alternative dispute resolution.
Prior to attending law school, Ben worked as a landman in upstream oil and gas for several Denver-based operators. He has extensive title experience in Colorado, Wyoming, Texas, and Montana. Ben ran due diligence teams for asset transactions totaling over $1.2 billion.
In his free time, Ben enjoys riding bicycles throughout Colorado, travel with his wife, and playing the violin.
